Plantronics Voyager Plantronics is really tuned-in and keeps abreast of the times – new Voyager 855 confirms it, being world's first Bluetooth headset to offer mono-to-stereo convertibility and AudioIQ. AudioIQ is a technology that filters out environmental noise to produce the clearest delivery of your voice possible. Innovative stereo ear buds seal out noise and seal in sound helping you to plunge into the music. Three ear bud sizes and optional ear loops are the amenities you were looking for. The sliding boom gets you closer to the microphone, so you are heard better than ever. The extra earphone provides binaural sound as well as A2DP stereo and AVRCP capabilities for music. You can use the headset in mono mode without this extra earphone – just detach it from the back of the device. Multipoint technology lets you know about incoming calls, and helps to switch between calls and music on your stereo enabled Bluetooth phone.

The pairing is easy with Plantronics QuickPair technology.

  • Up to 7 hours talk time from a single charge
  • 160 hours standby time from a single charge
  • Weighs only 15 grams

Price at Plantronics store: $150

I am using the Plantronics 855 with a Treo 680 (with Softick Audio Gateway v 1.18). Overall, I really like this unit. Very good BT headset for phone calls, and pretty good as a stereo headset. I still think wired stereo headsets provide slightly better audio quality necessary for music, but this is fine for podcasts - one or both ears. On phone calls with both earpieces in, I get voice in both ears (unlike other reviewer on Blackberry).

I have the 855s paired to a BlackBerry 8820.These work well in the Stereo Mode (A2DP). The microphone with it's extension is an improvement. However, unlike the manual indicates I only receive audio from one earpiece when in the phone mode. This was disappointing.
