This headset is designed especially for iPod, but also can be used with other Bluetooth-enabled devices supporting A2DP profile or headset profile for enabling VoIP calling. You can enjoy music without being afraid to miss a phone call. The procedure is the same as with others headsets of such type – the call comes in, you press the button answering the call and the music pauses at once. Then you are chatting thanks to the built-in microphone. After the conversation is over, you press the button and music goes on. The call can be rejected if you're not in the mood to talk to someone. Easy and handy. Also the headphone allows last number redial, hang up and call waiting. Moreover, the TEN naviPlay allows watching video on your iPod with no audio-video synchronization problems.
Comfort Looking big, they are very lightweight and very comfortable. You can use them for hours without slightest discomfort. They don't fall from your head thanks to their classic over-the-head design. They have two pads on the headband, and due to ear-cup design the soft thick pads on the earpieces envelop your ears and let no sound flee outside. The length of the headband is adjustable, and the earpieces are attached very flexibly in three-axis way to satisfy any head shape. In fact, they are so adjustable, that I managed to change left/right and up/down putting the headphones on without looking, so that was surprised what the buttons are doing on the left earpiece and why these buttons make the reverse of what I want :) Well, maybe the headphones look too simple and rustic, but at the same time they are quite imposing. Sound
TEN Technology did their best to achieve maximum musical fidelity and to present superior stereo quality. Basses are really great – profound and stirring, the sound of singer's voice is amazingly crystal clear. But I've noticed an evident hoarseness in the sound of instruments, mostly in middles. Some users say the sound is muffled, but I don't second it. As for me, it is bright and distinct, as well as loud, enough not to hear the noise around you. Operating
The headset is easy to operate. The buttons (Volume up/down, Previous/Next track, Play/Pause/Stop) are located on the right earpiece in a four-way circular pad, they are small but easy to control after some practice – you just have to feel by your fingers the key-top markings, it helps greatly. You will need no additional software to start and nothing to configure, the setup is rather easy. Though, we encountered some problems while pairing – the handheld Tungsten T3 (not iPod!) found the headset and then refused to go on. I proved to be more persistent and manage to connect them. But the next time it took considerably more time to get them connected. By the way, there is a small red-and-green indicator which helps to perform operations, as well as shows low battery. And when the headset is playing, it flashes green all the time. Disadvantage The biggest disadvantage of the headset is sound dropouts – approximately one skip for two songs, which is very conspicuous alongside with perfect sound. And at a distance (5 meters) it starts to stutter unbearably. The maximum distance you can hear something is 8 m. One more thing is their frailness. The headband needed repairing after two months of use. Package The package includes naviPlay Headset itself, naviPlay iPod Adapter (with its own lithium-polymer battery), Headset USB Charging Cable, Clips for iPod Models and User Manual. You need to put your iPode into this adapter that grasps it tightly in order to ensure connection. Several plastic insets make it easy to use the headset with many versions of the MP3 player. The adapter allows simultaneous charging of the basis and iPod. The headphones are charged via USB cable and allow simultaneous listening. After charging you'll have12 hours of music. The price for worthy headset is worthy – you'll need $180-200 to become a lucky owner of naviPlay Bluetooth Stereo Headset. |
