This is the first headpiece of this type by Samsung. The headset has over-the-ear design. Two clip-on earpieces are connected with an adjustable cord, which you can wear at the front or behind your neck. Some people consider such design to be foolish, they say that I resemble Shreck and have a silly look with those prominent earpieces and too long wires hanging all around, but why reject some little wires, if they make headset lightweight and easy to wear? When I saw them after wearing Motorola HT820 and Jabra BT620 headphones I just fell in love with them only for their design, at last my ears won't suffer.

Comfort
These headphones won't do for fitness, but if you not going to somersault head over heels, they are just for you. At first I was afraid even to node, It seemed they are going to fall down every second. But then I've grown bolder and find out that they are tenacious enough to forget about them and immerse into music. Now I can do what I want, the earpieces never fell down. Oh, almost forgot, they don't interfere with glasses at all. Another good thing is the possibility to wear only one earpiece in case you need to talk to someone or are afraid to be taken unawares, since they are really loud – I could hear no office noise and missed some interesting conversations :) Sound I was more than content with stereo sound as well, basses are great – profound and penetrating, the only thing to complain is a bit of dryness in middles in some songs – but most likely it is not the headset fault. And, which is very important, I've heard no skipping for several hours. Then it stuttered for one time, and went on further with no hassle while playing. Though, it could skip once when I switched tracks from the PDA. The range of these headphones is no less than 11 m, which is really good result. Buttons
In the beginning I encountered some problems with the control buttons. They all are placed on the left ear piece, and in the beginning I had to grope them all, and then choose the necessary one, or else I pushed the wrong button. But it is just the matter of time and practice. In fact, I liked the on/off button, as well as the rest of standard set, because the functions are marked. You can receive and reject the calls wirelessly, at this time music pauses and starts again after the call is ended. You can make phone calls, as well as redial the last call, activate call-waiting function and perform voice dialing, so the headphones have a microphone. Since the microphone is distanced from your mouth, in nosier places you will be heard not good while phone conversation. LED
The headset has a LED, but it doesn't flash all the time (which is great!), the blue or red light will appear only when the headset is doing something except playing. The red light notifies the battery amount, the blue one helps in pairing and connecting. When the headpiece is turned on, you can check the battery status by pressing (FF) and Volume Down buttons simultaneously. The language of red flashes is described in the SBH-100 manual. An internal battery is non-removable and rechargeable. The headset is not able to operate while charging, which can be sometimes annoying, all the more the manual states the charging time to be 3 hours. In total, the time of operation is 9 hours. Functionality
The SBH-100 supports Bluetooth Hands-free Profile, Headset Profile, Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP). The pairing is not hard to perform – to get into the pairing mode you'll need to switch on the headset, holding simultaneously a Talk button, and then the procedure is the same as of many others headsets. The Samsung SBH-100 can remember six last devices. It will work with devices that are compliant with Bluetooth version 1.2 and support Advanced Audio Distribution profile, A/V Remote Control profile, Headset profile and/or Hands-free profile(s). Some users encounter a compatibility problem, when a headset doesn't work with USB Bluetooth adapter on the computer or with some devices – they just don't detect the headset. Unfortunately, even good headphones have its own glitches. Most likely it won't read file formats such as *.wav, * .wma and *.avi, other than MP3 files. So if you hear no music check your file format (*.mp3) for your music files. The headset is easy to carry with you – you can put it to the carrying case, tough enough, but soft inside. Unfortunately, the room is set aside only for the headphones, the charger won't fit into, as the case is too small. But I don't think this is a big problem, in total the headset is worth buying. |
