I have to mention, that this one headset has the most controversial comments of users and reviewers. Opinions vary greatly, as though it is the matter of absolutely different headphones. Taking into consideration, that the market niche of A2DP headphones is just developing, we have not a wide choice of good headsets, and even the best of them have their own drawbacks. Still, let's try to find the golden mean.

 Jabra BT 620

According to users' comments, the common thing for this headset is that it is easy to pair, as well as operate. It's memory is only 3 devices. You can pair it with two devices, which have to perform different functions – you can't pair it with 2 mobile phones, but you can do it with a phone and a music source. You'll never miss a call, if someone is eager to talk to you, the music pauses and it's up to you whether to receive or reject the call. After the call is ended, the music starts again as if no interruption was there. Just don't forget that all sound is transferred to the headset, and if you don't switch off wireless stereo, without headphones on your head you'll miss the call. So, enjoy really wireless device. You will pay for such convenience with your ears, though. The Jabra BT620s appears to be rather heavy and bulky after using it for a while. It has behind-the-neck design, non-adjustable, though flexible. When you just start to use them, you think: oh, they are quite cozy. But then they become heavier and heavier to bear them. If you have strong ears, this headset is for you (I was greatly surprised to hear once that it is light and comfortable). By the way, I don't recommend it to those who wear glasses, as well as to women with sophisticated hairdos.

Buttons

Multi-colored LEDs on both round silver earpieces help you to see, whether you perform a correct action and what the headset is doing. Their language is easy to learn, but it would be better they were not so big and merry with its persistent flashing. On the side of each earpiece there are phone and music control buttons, which allow you to skip tracks, pause/play/stop music, adjust the volume. But they are very sensitive – if you are used to touching you head while thinking or tidying your hair, you will have to drop this habit. In fact, these headphones are funny ones – they can start to play just lying on the table, and when you put them down carelessly they behave naughty, starting to roll all around.

Sound

As for sound, most reviews praise it to be crystal clear and loud enough, and all of my friends second it, so do most of users. Only some reviews admit “poor sound quality, crackles”. They say: “Even using a correct a2dp profile, or the provided USB cable, the sound quality is terrible. It sounds equivalent to an MP3 encoded at a 32kbps bitrate.” A review from another source claims there is a constant background hiss despite rich sound. Some users complain about poor call quality alongside with excellent music sound – the audio on both sides is tinny and echoing. Strange, whatever gives such a discrepancy?

However, there are lots of complains about skipping and stuttering. There exist several reasons for such behavior. Some of them are: simultaneous operating of phone, Direct Push, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; playing music from storage card; using old versions of players (Pocket Player and MortPlayer are well worth using).

As for me, I've listened to the music for several hours directly from storage card, and heard no skipping at all.

Specification

Jabra promises 14 hours of music or 16 hours of talk time, after that you will charge it for 2 hours. Though, our tests have shown even better results: 19 hours of music. You can still listen to your music while charging from PC via USB cable – but at a reduced rate. The range is, according to our tests, 8 m. Bluetooth 1.2 supports A2DP (for music playing) and AVRCP profiles (for remote control). The package should contain: BT620s headset, USB to USB mini cord, AC adapter, getting started guide, user manual, spare pair of ear cushions, this all to put in a carrying bag.

In the long run, this headset is one of most praised among users as A2DP headphones in spite of its heavy design. So, if your head is not very fastidious, go and buy it.

:( These headphones SUCK!

1) They're too heavy, and really uncomfortable on the ears.
2) The call buttons are so large and sensitive that you're bound to accidentially call your boss while watching porn with the headset on.
3) It is a buggy piece of shit! I had to reconnect it to my phone every freaking day.
4) If you want one, you can find one in my garbage can. I just decided enough is enough. Now I'm going to buy a decent headset instead.

I work with productions and post production sound. Though i wouldn't recommend using these headsets for critical work, I've ocasionally used them for non critical sound work. I know what i'm listening through so considering the cost and limitations of bluetooth these headsets aren't bad at all. They are not feather light but i have used them for 6 to 18 hours periods on busy shows and they haven't failed. The problems some people experienced are often user error and or the limitation of bluetooth. They have good dynamic range, power but are reliant on the source device for quality, get em!
