Now we are going to discuss how to use a desktop as an A2DP receiver and play music from a mobile phone, smartphone or Palm.

We've got accustomed to making something reverse - usually we use a desktop as a music source in order to listen to the music on headphones or speakers. But we offer no less interesting a solution. If you have a top-class stereo system connected to your desktop, and your favorite music is on your mobile phone or Palm, this will sound great for you: stream your music to your desktop stereo system without wires! Moreover, you won't need to keep the same music files in two places, or copy files from a mobile to PC every time you want to enjoy a new favourite song.

In my tests I've used a Bluetooth dongle with BlueSoleil drivers on my desktop. As a music source I've used HTC (Windows Mobile powered), then Palm TX with Softick Audio Gateway installed, and Samsung SGH-E390.

How to install and configurate BlueSoleil Stack read here, and about Softick Audio Gateway - here.

Firstly, you need to pair your PC with a music source. This procedure is the same as described in the articles aforesaid. After the devices found each other, both will ask for a passkey. By the way, be sure to turn off the invisibility mode on your mobile phone, otherwise the connection will fail and the message can appear that the passkey is wrong.

And one more important thing.

In BlueSoleil window go to View -> Service window and switch on an important service AV Headphone. Click on the icon with a headphones. If you do it for the first time after BlueSoleil installation, a window will appear:

Click Yes, and in the next window choose a Playback Device:

If you forget to do it, the message something like that will appear: "Error. Unable to find suitable endpoint".

If you do everything correct, the connection will be established.

At the  bottom of the screen such message should appear:

Now go to your music source player and choose music you like.

The next info is for those who uses a mobile phone of Samsung SGH-E390 type. In the beginning I wasn't able to get the connection (though the pairing was successful). But then I went to Player Options in the phone, and selected the option "Transfer to Bluetooth Stereo headset" (choose Yes). At once I heard the music in PC's headphones. The quality was not the best though.

Well, you can discuss this problem in our Forum

In order to activate the headset receiver function son the newer bluesoleil, possibly the older versions as well, you must select the audio head set mode in device properties. It should be set as desktop computer, but it has other options i.e. laptop. You must select the headset profile.

Clarion for Drivers
A new audio head unit - the FB278RBT - was introduced by Clarion. It integrates a plethora of features that already become a necessity for contemporary human, such as built-in Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP & AVRCP), Bluetooth Handsfree calling technology (HFP & HSP), MP3 (including ID3-TAG display) playback that is there due to an SD card slot behind the flip-down control panel (instead of a CD drive).
