There are rumours on the Web, that the new product in the line called simply T-Mobile's Sidekick 2008 (aka Gekko) will be released on July 30th.

It still will be a GSM device using EDGE for data connectivity. A built-in 2.0 megapixel camera will take pictures, record and share video. Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) is there too.

No touchscreen, and thus limited interaction. A 2.6 Wide-QVGA screen ( resolution: 400?240 pixels) with kick-flip design to show and hide the QWERTY keyboard.

A good point is that you'll be able to choose Sidekick's look with two removable shells plus the default black one.
